Recommendation of: WWE SummerSlam 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Recommendation of: WWE SummerSlam 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful/adult language references/blood/racist comment and I will be using soft adult language references and some point in this content.

The Judgement Day's: Rhea Ripley vs. Champ Liv Morgan; Singles Match the WWE Women's World Championship: amongst other things the host of SummerSlam The Miz welcomes us. The run-around thing to begin this match is so not how to start this iconic event, it is so tedious even though it only goes on for a little while then I can completely agree with some elements of a crowd at minimum getting frustrated. Bob Ross gets referenced on commentary by Pat McAfee for those younger generations he was a famous artist/painter that had his own TV show from 1983-1994. Apparently Ripley's shoulder popped out and the commentary team put it over as genuine including Cory Graves indicating he can see it. Then we have Michael Cole indicating it could essentially be dislocated and then sometime later Ripley putting it back into place, Graves says he will go and check on Ripley. Before giving the mark I do I just want to clarify it is a combined effort of the opening to this event and/or a crowd participation in this match slot. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

Bron Breakker vs. Champ Sami Zayn; Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: this match slot and what with the surrounding elements such as Slim Jim's. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

LA Knight vs. Champ Logan Paul; Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship: including the breaking and another reference to Slim Jim's in one way or another, I do wonder why they went with this particular table spot as the table doesn't break and as Graves indicates in a nutshell/paraphrasing, it looks like both participants had to take a bump and then we have Cole pointing out how long Paul has been champion with Graves quickly pointing out on top how many times Paul has actually defended this championship, without giving too much away I really wouldn't have made reference to any of this because it is just embarrassing for all concerned. Graves make a mistake on about colleges, there is reference to Hulk Hogan on commentary. We have a pin fall off 2.8 from our referee Ryan Tran and the commentary team discuss it obviously, we have a super brain buster from the bottom left turnbuckle from Knight to Paul; which it is one of those occasions where both competitors take a wicked bump, Graves makes referenced in the brain buster being a suplex, but earlier he called it a brain buster; so pick one already and then we have Cole yet again bringing up Paul record with this championship which as I said earlier I just wouldn't do. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

Queen Jax vs. Bayley; Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: a commercial/skit. I will be completely honest with you, I could have really done without seeing this video package building up to this match, because from time to time it does remind me how Queen Jax still can't wrestle and consequently can still be a liability in the ring and if you think I am being a little bit harsh; they actually made reference to Jax putting Bayley on the shelf for three months some time ago now and not forgetting making reference to Jax being clumsy and reckless, so as you can probably tell I am really looking forward to this match slot; Not! I mean I have been around wrestling long enough to know that okay lean into these facts make lemonade, but not this much in a nutshell it just gives off go away heat. Are Then we have McAfee saying on commentary such words as talented and generational; I say really? Cole says sit down uranage by Jax in a far right top corner, but at no point does she sit down then we have McAfee essentially indicating it after that as well; it is a spot that Samoa Joe uses from time to time. I hate Jax's finish the Annihilator: for me briefly she never does it properly, comfortably or most un-safe. Then we have Jax repeating things as I am unsafe with the commentary team discussing it; it should be noted as well the crowd participation has dropped considerably for this match slot, I mean they are still there and some are trying to make something. But mostly the crowd have very much disappeared and probably gone through get some refreshments or taking a toilet break. Graves had almost finished saying unplugs but he quickly change that to unfold, now this is where Jax's need to take a lesson from Bayley as from the top right corner she is able to control a power bomb reversal on Jax with clinical profession, which this no surprise gets the ground engaged into this match, I really don't like the end of this match slot, but at the same time I have to reflect Bayley's hard work. This match/match slot receives: 5/10.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre; Singles Match Seth Rollins will be the Special Guest Referee: John Wick get referenced on commentary; as you would expect this match was a hard-hitting a fair including McIntyre hitting an impressive sit down power bomb and with the surrounding segment. This match/match slot receives: 9/10.

Imperium's: King Walter vs. Champ The Judgement Day's: Damian Priest; Singles Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: as we have come to expect any match involving Walter is a hard-hitting match slot and the surrounding segments such as The Miz & T-Truth or bits and pieces will be reflected, but having said that I just have one question what the hell is Rhodes wearing? this match/match slot receives: 9/10.

The Bloodline's: Solo Sikoa vs. Champ Cody Rhodes; Bloodline Rules Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: meaning the mask? I don't like it and it looks like garbage. Sikoa performs a reversal spinning sit down power bomb with pin: a very neat and tidy reversal. Cole made reference to Umaga which is Sikoa's uncle, Cole says that  Sikoa essentially/I am paraphrasing didn't get all of that running/diving head butt, but I think he did on both the first and second and after this we have Graves I really hate this comment because it has always been implied as having racial connotations and can I really, really just fudgin' saying the Anoaʻi family have tried their fudgin' best to get away from this stereotype of Samoan/Persian wrestlers having hard/thick heads. As Graves makes reference roughly to traditionally speaking his family have skulls like concrete which I am sure when Cody wakes up he will happily attest to [regardless of the rest of this match/match slot: I will be taking at least a mark off and just for the record no I am not being offended on their behalf.] I am  fudged off because that reference is what it is least where 30 years out of date and Graves better check himself as in; maybe he needs to check which are family is running the wrestling industry and the WWE in particular; it is the Anoaʻi family and I don't give two dumpling in the way Graves meant it or not. Terry Funk gets referenced on commentary and then we have McAfee putting over Sikoa as a gifted athlete and with the rest of this match outlay being used consistently, which means it is starting to lose its impact. This match/match slot receives: 6/10

The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 7/10, as you can see taking everything into consideration this mark is a reasonable outcome. But I have to be honest minus Slim Jim's, because everyone should know that this sponsorship is a part of wrestling, I did find this event to be longer and I know it was just under 4 hours long and this is not a wrestling thing, it is a TV production thing. I found the product to be boring, okay it doesn't help that I recently watched a WWF/WWE event and yes that was shorter; the event went on for 157 minutes, but it just bounced along as this event doesn't bounce along and please remember am talking about the production so I am not being a gatekeeper here, I get why they have video packages and/advertising and other things in wrestling and segments which this other event had segments in it, but if I had to do a comparison this event has no bounce or charisma to it.
