Recommendation of: NXT No Mercy 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Recommendation of: NXT No Mercy 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful/adult language references

Chase University's: Andre Chase & Ridge Holland [with Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne & Thea Hail] vs. Champs Nathan Frazer & Axiom; Tag Team Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship: this was/is a good opening to this event, but it has to be said the crowd liked it more than I did, I will give the mark I do based on their opening from our commentary pairing of Vic Joseph and Booker T. and anything else happens in this match slot. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

Representing TNA: the TNA X Division Championship The Rascalz's: Zachary Wentz vs. Representing NXT: Wes Lee; Singles Match: they should have really put this match on first; as this match just feel and look much more fluently presented with an excellent wrestling; it is very deserving of its mark, but as you will hear there is a technical botch as it relates to a table spot Wentz gets laid out on to the table and you won't see it until it is finished, but you will hear it where; the table just gives away and collapses [meanwhile the camera shot is on Lee; which probably will be down to an earlier sport in the night to why this table broke] and taking into consideration the surrounding content. This match/match slot receives: 9/10

Wendy Choo vs. Champ Kelani Jordan; Singles for the NXT Women's North American Championship: now having watched this match how can I put this nicely; it is incredibly easy for someone even like me that has never been in the ring to pick up on the clear difference between someone that has been wrestling for roughly a decade up to this point in Choo and then someone that has only been wrestling for roughly 2 years in Jordan. As Choo look and feel like a competent and smooth operator, with also making sure that she and Jordan look good during and making sure that they both look good for having this match/match slot. But more often than not Jordan still can be sloppy in movement or/and wrestling technique for an example; hear out for as any thud as it relates to working or going outside on the entrance/ramp side of the ring, I think where it also gets referenced on commentary, due to the content including the surrounding bits and pieces. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

The D'Angelo Family's: Tony D’Angelo [with Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino & Adriana Rizzo] vs. Champ Oba Femi; Singles Match for the NXT North American Championship: T. says that D'Angelo caught a low blow from Femi, which I can confirm this is absolutely garbage on replaying it nothing of the sort happens even though it is put over on commentary as inadvertent. I just can't see it, Femi goes in for a rock bottom type of move and D’Angelo crumbles down, but there was no intent on this area of the body for D’Angelo: a little time later we have an replay from Joseph showing that basically it was foot area that was the problem and not what was previously been indicated; but then again they did get the opportunity to discuss tonight's main event. I wasn't feeling this match/match slot, but because of the surrounding bits and pieces. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

O.T.M's: Jaida Parker vs. Champ Roxanne Perez; Singles Match for the NXT Women's Championship: T. should be removed from commentary whenever Perez is wrestling, because he is biased for the fact he trained her at his wrestling school or better yet just manage her as an on-screen character and continue as a member of the commentary team as well, but if they aren't going to do this then he should be removed for as I have just said/illustrated; with the comment that goes something like this; you can tell Parker has run out of ideas as she tries to steal one from Perez Vic. And? So? She tries to get a quick pin, there is nothing wrong here, but you will accept a little earlier that Perez getting a count out victory is something that you love this. Hell I am just going to say it as it is; NXT's singles women's champions are nothing special, in fact both of their contenders on this card have single-handedly showed me that they had more either going for them or individually they are genuine wrestling talents, I hope that Choo and Parker individually or together or both get more opportunities in the future and yes on a quick side note I am fully aware that Perez is a heel so her taking a count out victory is within her make-up as a character, but that doesn't say that T. can or should follow suit, with T. defending everything that Perez does including she has until the count of 5 to break illegal holds, with Joseph pointing out; I wish you would step out of your box can call this down the middle with T. replying I am, I am. This garbage has got incredibly boring so no surprise that this match/match slot will be losing marks; it just depends how many. Joseph continues with to your point she has crossed the 5 count, T continues the point of in a nutshell of it is bending the rules, but not break them and highlighting how smart she is; I wonder if they know the more they discuss it, the more I am just going to take marks off? Because it is truly boring.

In hindsight I find it amusing that Joseph said that NXT has the best women's division and now I see it for what it really is; all they are doing is feeding their division to the wrestlers that they want to make future stars, which is something completely different than having the best women's division; that tag of having the best women's division belongs to TNA, because even though I don't watch that promotion and they haven't done for years, even when they first started out they made women's wrestling a big thing and they have continued that for years; so they are the true revolution of women's wrestling. But I digress; then we have later on Joseph giving praise for T./Perez for not breaking any rules but using her environment around her. In my opinion I have seen her enough now to say this; she can't wrestle, I see no signs of improvement so as things stand if she was to make her fall main roster debut; they would wrestle rings around her and only because of the surrounding content this mark is what it is. This match/match slot receives: 5/10.

Representing TNA: Joe Hendry vs. Representing NXT: Champion Ethan Page; Singles Match for the NXT Championship with Trick William as special guest referee: the bell sounds, then some reason Williams calls for the bell to sound to indicate for the match to begin; but Williams it has already been sounded. There is good wrestling and I will award another mark based on the surrounding content. This match/match slot receives: 8/10

The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 8/10, I think altogether this event has enough to get into this section of my marking system, but without sounding sexist I am really not impressed with the women's champions at the moment on this brand.
