Recommendation of: NXT Battleground 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!
Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful/adult language reference/breaking bones/blood warning
Sol Ruca vs.The Meta-Four's: Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley vs. O. T. M's: Jaida Parker [with Bronco Nima & Lucien Price] vs. The O.C.'s: Michin vs. Kelani Jordan; Ladder Match for the inaugural NXT Women's North American Championship: I have to ask what the hell was the host of this event; Sexy Red welcome us to this event about? Meaning it will garbage as I have already said she welcomed last and then shakes her posterior basically makes love to the ring mat. A little time later Adam Cole gets referenced on commentary, Vic Joseph tells Booker T. to basically move out of the way; Joseph makes reference to the fact that there are more women on this card tonight more than men, basically he goes on to say that is why we have the best division in wrestling; I am loosely paraphrasing [I will discuss later why I have made reference to this.] Sol Ruca performs a stiff looking release German suplex on Michin: it gets referenced on commentary. But then Michin returns the favour with a high angle version as Joseph reference on commentary; but at least it is a proper and neat version of a German suplex; including the update from yesterday and present times. This match/match slot receives: 7/10
The O.C.'s: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Champs Nathan Frazer & Axiom; Tag Team Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship: Joseph miss call a DDT when, on close inspection it was a arm breaker performed by Axiom as a reversal on Gallows. Joseph says the wrong name first but corrects himself as it relates to a kick out by Axiom; then says Frazier. For some reason the referee [Derek Sanders] had a difficult time keeping this tag team match a standard tag team match; it was like a tornado tag team match. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.
Shayna Baszler vs. Lola Vice; NXT Underground Match: this time T. tells Joseph to get out of the way, to be honest with you I was going to give this slot something higher, because up to a certain point it looked professional, but Baszler had to go for the surrounding people which is a very WWE thing and on top of that we get an interesting video package which is a positive, but then again we had another appearance from Red after her first appearance just get her off my screen, which counterbalances the previous positive. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.
Wes Lee vs. Gallus': Joe Coffey vs. Champ Oba Femi; Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship: simply put; it delivers on what you expected to deliver and we get another interesting video package. This match/match slot receives: 9/10.
The TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Champ Roxanne Perez; Singles Match for the NXT Women's Championship: TNA gets references in one way or another, Joseph corrects himself again as he calls this event Deadlines, then comes out with Battleground. Can I just point out how stupid does it look for Perez to try and square up to Grace, I know it is meant to imply she is not intimidated. But I am talking about the physical squaring up to Grace with the championship with the referee [Jeremy Marcus] getting in the middle. I mean simply put; Grace is built like a house, like I said I get what they were trying to go with here but it just doesn't work even T. makes Grace being a powerhouse and he has a long-term affiliation with Perez. I should just point out that I don't know where this red comes from, it could be blood or/and hair dye, because at some point Grace's mouth seems to be showing signs of blood, without giving too much away I was not a fan of the surrounding elements to this match/match slot, so on this card including Joseph making the reference he does earlier on in the night, which is excellent and very progressive. But however in a matter of less than 30 seconds this means absolutely nothing as we have an interview segment involving eventually Red, Vice and the interviewer [Sarah Schreiber] twerking: I absolutely hated this with a passion, it absolutely contradicts what the WWE/NXT are trying to put out there, maybe next time let's see them breasts as Red has already flashed them on the Internet anyway and just the record this is not speculation or rumour I have actually been the clip and then we have an interview with someone. This match/match slot receives: 5/10.
Ethan Page vs. Champ Trick Williams; Singles Match for the NXT Championship: a solidly good main event is what we have here; but I took it mark off for seeing Red again, after this event I am quite happy not to see her ever again. This match/match slot receives: 6/10.
The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 7/10, this was on the whole good wrestling, but Red really did spoil this event especially with the twerking, either be a pioneer for women's wrestling or just go back to sex sells, you can't have it both ways WWE/NXT.
