They're back: rough outline; Detective Lieutenant  Michael  "Mike" Lowrey [Will Smith:] he is still charismatic and financially well off, but he is keeping a secret from his work partner, Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett [Martin Lawrence:] he is still a family man, but nowadays he is trying to keep calmer and likewise is keeping a secret from his work partner; they work for the Miami PD/alongside TNT [Tactical Narcotics Team;] they still have the same boss but the leader of this unit is unknown character name/we aren't told [Henry Rollins:] he a stern individual and I should point out that this is a very limited role. DEA Special Agent Sydney 'Syd' Burnett [Gabrielle Union:] she is undercover as a banker, which basically means a money laundering and as you can tell by the last name she is Marcus' younger sister and she also is keeping a secret, but it transpires that they are after the same individual; let's hope they can all work together. It is worth noting that there are two cameos somewhere in this film I have no idea where they are; we have the Director of this film Michael Bay as Crappy Car Driver and Megan Fox as Dancer.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing and all of that of this 148 minutes film is well I may as well get it out of the way with straight away, you see Bay's projects [as long as he is connected in any form]  may have worked in the 1990's as soon as you get past this decade it becomes a problem to find a project he is connected with that is positive [based on my knowledge on the creation of this content; that should cover me a little bit for the future] and not to give too much away yes this sequel will be getting a positive mark, but it won't be because of him, but just to finish this section of I look back at this film and it is one of those occasions where you look back on it and you can see that he is trying to do the 1990's outlay in this case in the early 2000's and it just isn't syncing, I will bring this up more later on.

Comedy and action; the comedy is consistently lively as for examples their main partnership dressing up as exterminated, to basically gain access to this location so they can investigate it and bug it; but here is where we find out that Burnett is afraid of what they are here to exterminate, so we have this entire struggling to deal with this job routine including finding out one of life's mysteries which he gets on a walkie-talkie to tell Lowrey; Lowrey stumbles onto something major, later on, they are investigating this location and what they find in this location and once again Burnett struggles to deal with this situation. But this time he unknowingly takes this substance which in a short time let's just say he is higher as a kite. I like using the ambulance as a battering ram or much later these mines and don't worry throughout this sequel there is plenty of their usual impactful, chaotic action sequences as well, I just wanted to pick a little bit of variety.

Character developments and performances; the character developments are evolution of the returning characters, you know it has been roughly 8 years since we have seen these characters so you expect them to change a little bit then for the newcomers they are good versions of what they are meant to be. Moving on to the performances; the cast all put in good performances, but obviously Joe Pantoliano as Captain Conrad Howard, Union slot in perfectly with Smith and Lawrence's loud chaos, comedic mayhem to get the job done.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; as I have already indicated in some fashion the major problem with this film is Bay, we have limited slow motion effects and likewise limited seeing women as sexual objects and as I have already said the time length of this sequel is 25 minutes too long, I mean this is a cautionary tale for any director or anyone that wants to work behind the scenes depending on your project, if it is a modern project mean set in now, always remember to try and move with the times and if you have a ball don't try and put in square hole, if you're lucky you can make the ball squash into the square hole where you end up with films like Bay generally speaking where they might work but also you will begin to get a reputation of coming out with familiar outlay that clearly is at minimum jarring in some way or another. But he is lucky that he is a partnership of Smith and Lawrence to make this film work, there is one extra sequence through the first lot of credits. This sequel also has some awards accredited to its name and yes not all of them are positive; 5 Winners that includes BMI Film & TV Awards 2004 BMI Film Music Award Trevor Rabin, NRJ Ciné Awards 2004 NRJ Ciné Award Best Buddy Movie (Meilleur buddy movie) Will Smith Martin Lawrence and negative award The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards 2003 Stinker Award Worst Sequel. 13 Nominees which includes Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 2004 Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award Female Gabrielle Union Shared with: Cradle 2 the Grave and negative award The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards 2003Stinker Award Most Intrusive Musical Score Trevor Rabin
