NJPW's Debut of "The Scapegoat" Jack Perry at NJPW Battle in the Valley 13/01/2024 by AverageMansReviews

Warning Disclaimer: this content is based on fact and opinion

Is it me or does this make AEW look a little bit foolish?: Let's start from AEW All In 2023; Sunday 27/08/2023; where basically Jack Perry and CM Punk had this altercation where the owner/other job titles Tony Khan feared for his safety on the biggest pay-per-view of this promotions history, where to somewhat speeded this up consequently Perry got indefinitely suspended and Punk got fired.

My point being: consequently Punk gets to go back to the WWE, whilst after serving his suspension Perry gets to debut at NJPW Battle in the Valley 13/01/2024 [yes he is still under a AEW contract when this content was first dictated; his suspension was recently up and creative have nothing for him to do and finally which I am sure most of you know, but if you don't NJPW and AEW have a working relationship.]

But if we were to look at the bigger picture Punk gets what he wants and Perry after serving his suspension gets to go over to NJPW, but the only ones that lose out are AEW by not having two big names on their roster and also not forgetting potentially these two wrestlers throwing shade over this big momentous occasion. I know it can't be helped if for some strange reason the AEW creative team has nothing for Perry to do, I have no idea why they didn't have him as a member of The Undisputed Kingdom, he would be a heat magnet for they could have given him a renegade gimmick; where he doesn't like the AEW fan base, but he doesn't like The Undisputed Kingdom more and then four months down the line Perry could swerve the fan base and then join The Undisputed Kingdom. I mean I'm not a fan of Perry as I have said in previous content, because basically and briefly it took the biggest stage of a AEW's history [AllIn 2023] and went into business for himself. But because he is young and hopefully learn from his suspension not to do this again, I would have given him something to do; perhaps start rolling vignettes of this loss man travelling up this highway, without a clue of where he is going, but he is in search of finding himself, where it could turn a little bit crazy from searching/being on his own but too long.

But no Perry has decided to come up with a gimmick/character wrinkle which is not going to allow us to move on from this whole entire situation; he has grown out his facial hair and is now wearing a black armband that says " The Scapegoat" the last time I looked Perry and Punk were equally to blame in one way or another as it relates to their history. But maybe AEW have done the right thing, by allowing Perry to spend some time in Japan or at minimum to and fro from Japan; it is just at the moment AEW are finding it very difficult just to keep the negative publicity away from their front door on a weekly basis and I am just wondering where it is going to come this week, but just to finish of I do believe that there is a little bit of egg on AEW’s face here, because it really does feel like AEW have lost out here including their fan base whilst the other two wrestlers have been bizarrely rewarded in a roundabout way and I am not naive to think that yet again  this won’t feed the critics of this wrestling promotion, because even though I like AEW this turn of events will just feed the critics.
