Let's play some football [American
football:] in a nutshell; Sean Porter/Coach
Sean Porter [Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson/Dwayne Johnson:] one of the
runners of this Camp Kilpatrick L.A County Probation Dept, he comes
up the idea to offer this year's class of inmates the opportunity to join this
football team/league to hopefully try and break the cycle of repeat offenders
and alongside Malcolm Moore/Assistant Coach Malcolm Moore [Xzibit:]
he is another runner of this location, this is a story of those teams journey.
Generally
speaking: the framework and pacing of
this 126 minutes film is good it just settles down and gets on with the film.
Comedy,
Action Character developments, performances; we have some comedy moments such
as what to do with a protective cup and the potential of what could happen if
you don't wear one and also Johnson switches between his wrestling persona The
Rock and Johnson the film star for a brief example The Rock uses this small
dialogue says " What in the blue hell?" Which is a part of The Rock's
old material in his promos and yes I know when he comes back to the WWE these
days he is known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, but in this case I had
to clearly distinguish between The Rock the wrestler and Johnson the film star
and before it someone points it out yes and TV star as well, he does get this
old material in into this film so you will have to pay attention out for it.
The action is basically gang warfare, domestic violence and the consequences of
it in this case, training and game time; the training and game time is all
good.
The
character developments and performances; well on both counts these character
developments and performances are representing these real people excellent way
well [to cover my back I should point out as far as I can tell, I am not being
disrespectful here, it is just through the ending credits we can see real-life
footage of these people so I'm basing my knowledge and opinion of what I have
seen.] But back to this film; this is very much a cast performance of good
chemistry and it being led by Johnson and his partnership with Xzibit, even
though he has his character or him as a performer is quieter Xzibit nicely
balances out this partnership and chemistry between these two.
This film
receives: 7/10, this film is good; if you
like individually or/and Johnson, take a look at this film and Xzibit and yes
just before I finish, it would be helpful if you liked American football as
well.
