It's
time to take out the trash, like "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan would: a former US Army Special Forces Sergeant/Sheriff Chris
Vaughn [The Rock/Dwayne Johnson:] he has just come home permanently after
serving his country for 8 years, to come back to this place that he grew up of
this little town in Washington DC, Kitsap County to find out that this once
prosperous place had been taken over by Jay Hamilton [Neal McDonough:] a former
friend of the sergeant's and owner of this casino within this town by the name
of "Wild Cherry," he is also runs drugs so he owns this town
including the Sheriff's Department. But luckily enough there is one person that
has the Sergeant's back and that would be Ray Templeton/Deputy Ray Templeton
[Johnny Knoxville:] a friend of the sergeant's, that is a former convict and at
first declines the opportunity to be a deputy, but after a little bit of
persuading he changes his mind to create this partnership.
The framework and pacing of this 86 minutes film is
good, it uses the outlay which is straightforward and achieves its goal without
any problem and that is to tell this story.
Action/Comedy: basically we have the Sergeant shining many boots
turning them sideways and then putting them up these candy posteriors [yes I
have adapted one of Dwayne " The Rock" Johnson's sayings from back in
the day and of course Templeton helps him or can handle himself on his own. The
biggest example of the comedy would be having our partnership torturing Booth
[Kevin Durand:] he is the head of security for the " Wild Cherry" so
consequently you should about his boss' in an outgoing, but instead of
torturing him for the information, they take it out on his vehicle, by slowly
dismantling it as Booth is handcuffed and can only sit there and watch, there
are other bits of comedy but this is the biggest example of it.
Character
developments and performances:
generally speaking the character developments and the performances from this
cast are all good, but this film has a really reliable spearhead of Johnson,
Knoxville and McDonough, be it singly or in different pairings or just in case
someone comes along and includes the touch football [American football]
sequence, just for a little bit of background they are on different teams
Johnson and Knoxville are on one whilst McDonough is on the other, I was just
thinking I would point this out just in case someone pointed this out, that I
didn't originally point this out, but nonetheless there is really good
chemistry.
This
film receives: 7/10, this film is good; on
reflection I have decided to award another mark, based on the spearhead which I
was just making reference to, I mean if you have never watched it; it is worth
a watch. This film also has 2 Nominees to its name World Stunt Awards 2005
Taurus Award Best High Work Tanoai Reed Mike Dopud Two stunt men fall through
the floors of an old building. One man is pushed out of the 2nd story barn
doors and lands on the ground below. Teen Choice Awards 2004 Teen Choice Awards
