In Gmunden, Austria: in a nutshell; after getting fixed up Tyler Rake [Chris
Hemsworth:] a former Australian ASA operative turned mercenary, gets given a
job to do by Alcott [Idris Elba:] a man named stranger which is credited having
the name Alcott, gives Rake this job, because this individual asked for him,
let's just say Rake will come face-to-face with his past [yes it does get
brought up,] don't I am not going to give this away. He and his unit of Nik
Khan [Golshifteh Farahani:] a mercenary that usually gets the contracts and her
brother Yaz Kahn [Adam Bessa:] a member of Rake unit and he and his sister are
close.
The framework and pacing is smooth
or/and presented as real-life so in its representation it is going to come
across as chaotic and messy and for the pacing of this 122 minutes film is a
little bit slow in the beginning stages, but when it kicks into a much higher
gear then it rapidly wakes up, on both counts I discuss these momentarily.
Generally speaking: Art/Action/Comedy; to begin with on an individual basis
the seemingly with the snow or/and ice is elegant. But let's move on shall we;
yes all of the action sequences are good fun; but I am just going to choose
one; the prison extraction sequence of events sees Rake being rumbled on what
was meant to be a relatively stealthy extraction turned out to be a very
chaotic; with Rake having to shoot or/and perform physical combat on these
prisoners that are attempting to stop him from achieving the first part of the
mission, he does have assistance from a member of this extraction objective she
has this snow shovel which comes in handy. The movement/art; comes from having
to keep up with this non-stop action, it looks clean and tidy which I am now
going to contradict myself by saying by its presentation it succeeds to give
off the impression that okay, everything is about to hit the fan as so many
people come out absolutely everywhere. If you were wondering about the other
two members of Rake's unit, they will join us later in the second part and onwards
which involves vehicles chasing and bullets flying, moving on to the third and
final part; on to what it was to be a cargo train, where at some point Rake
picks up this military guns [two different; one at a time.] As we see Rake
shooting at these armoured choppers; these sequence are very much designed like
a shooting video game where you have the character [us] and this thing we have
to take down, for those gamers out there it has been given a presentation of
perhaps a middle level boss and ending level boss, sandwiched between the Nic
has her own action sequence in this very confined area. For the comedy there
are some comical moments like for an example; we get the usage of a repeating
comedy reference of a nutshell "Do you trust me?"
Character developments and performances: generally speaking are reliable versions of what they
are meant to be, as it relates to Rake there is some excellent character
progression and for the performances they are likewise reliable performances to
reflect their character types.
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; this sequel has a storyline which
has progression at its foundation which on top of that lots of action with some
character growth.
