Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/kamikaze

5 Hours Earlier: in a nutshell; HSI Special Agent Justin Rosa [Kevin Dillon:] it is his first day in his new job at Homeland Security, which is trying to do the right thing here for potentially past sins as he now finds himself in this yes new job but dead-end job. He has got to just simply keep an eye on Eddie Flynn [Oliver Trevena:] an Irish weapons arm dealer, which he has some very valuable information in his head that Senior Special Agent Shane Mueller [Bruce Wallace:] a grisly old veteran that wants this information so he can close this case and retire. So all HSI Special Agent Roda has to do is watch Flynn from the comfort of the wire room, follow the rules and keep Flynn a live, but as always on your first day nothing goes quite according to plan.

The framework pacing and comedy for this 97 minutes film; well straight off the bat I really don't like seeing a closing section of this film first and then having "5 Hours Earlier." Sometimes this kind of thing works really well and/or sometimes it feels really tacky and it is the latter here and you can mix essentially the comedy component of everything going from bad to worse for HSI Special Agent Roda. Don't get me wrong the other comedy elements such as Senior Special Agent Mueller doing his grisly old veteran thing whenever he feels that HSI Special Agent Roda that feels natural and normal. Yes I am aware that without one you can't have the other, but if HSI Special Agent Roda situation felt more normal and less this, the best way I can describe it as reaching around for laughs, you know when you have a comedian potentially trying out some new comedy material and the individual is really trying to put it over, but regardless of how much they try it is just dying on its feet; this is how it feels like. Pulled away from this comedy and actually settles down into an action film outlay yes it knows what it is doing and gets on with it, but I would prefer that over this potential comedy. I have said the word potential because it felt like comedy in a serious situation, but when or if you choose to watch this film you may not feel the same way about it.

Action: the best action sequence which is also recurring without giving too much away is where we have HSI Special Agent Roda and Flynn working together to take down these house invaders; so we have HSI Special Agent Roda being the eyes in the sky whilst Flynn physically stealthily trying to be quite I will say that again trying to be quiet and take these individuals down.

Character developments and performances: generally speaking first of all; they are all safe and reliable versions and performances of what they are meant to be. Bruce Willis as Senior Special Agent Shane Mueller; he doesn't have the biggest role in this film, but he is still able to put in a good performance are essentially as a good action hero, you know someone that physically can't do as much as they used to, but in their heart they are still there.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; as I have already referenced this film has a plan and sticks to it and on top of that it leaves it open for a sequel.
