Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/stabbing/transformation/impaling/animal cruelty/animal feeding/burning/chopping/breaking/cutting.

Let's go and put things right: in summary; Edgin Darvis [Chris Pine:] a bard, a former member of the Harpers and one hell of a lute musician. Alongside his best friend Holga Kilgore [Michelle Rodriguez:] she is a barbarian which has been exiled from their tribe the Uthgardt Elk Tribe, she is the muscle of the pairing and eventual re-established crew. But after escaping prison, they want to go when reconcile with Kira "Bug" Darvis [Younger: Sophia Nell Huntley/Older: Chloe Coleman:] the daughter of Edgin and very much a daughter to a surrogate mother Holga [this all gets explained in this film.] But unfortunately her mind has been poisoned by liars from a member of their crew Forge Fitzwilliam [Hugh Grant:] a quick witted rogue con artist which is currently the Lord of Neverwinter and as Edgin asked he has taken care of his daughter as his very own, he has a very powerful right hand individual by the name of  Sofina [Daisy Head:] a Red Wizard of Thay that serves the Lord, but be warned she deserves her own purposes as well.

The framework and pacing of this 134 minutes film is good, what has been integrated into this; would be the comedy and the character developments and the performances; in one way or another it seems to have been given the licence roll along with the storyline and comedy. So it feels like it is always moving with this get up and go approach with " there is always or most of the time something to laugh with and in the off chance that you didn't find that funny we have plenty of things lined up." So as it goes for the storyline, framework, pacing and the comedy these are similarly synced together well. Usually I would give one example of the comedy, but in this case I will take this time to point out that this film has included Dungeons & Dragon 1983 cartoon somewhere in this film, yes obviously I know where, but that is not my purpose here. My purpose here is to reassure you that if you look out for them, you will see just a cover my back at least some of these characters.

The reason why I have to include the character developments and the performances here, is because this film has a thing of back stories yes I know it is used as a running gag in one sequence, but it still has a little back stories thing going on if my memory is correct.

The character developments and the performances; well they have assembled a good bunch of slight misfits to take their viewers on this adventure and excellent chemistry from these performers throughout this cast.

Action/Art: likewise they had a clear idea what they wanted to achieve with these components/sequences in this film; we have mystical powers/creatures, escaping from locations a whole range of things happening basically, but they are all reasonable from the perspective of in the brackets of this world. Visually everything looks highly detailed from the landscapes and different backdrops to the wardrobe or/and the computer animation. But I didn't notice this until the person I watch some films with said there isn't many dragons which on reflection I will back this individual up and say there isn't many dragons in this film, so they may want to address likewise that if or when they get the green light to come out with a sequel.

This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; it has so much to offer its audience/viewers, it is a good old-fashioned but modern family viewing film as long as your family are at minimum 12A and yes finally there is one extra scene at the end of the first part of credits. Currently/when this content was created, this film has 1 award accredited to it; SXSW Film Festival 2023 Audience Award Headliners John Francis Daley Jonathan Goldstei, but to be honest I am expecting more in some capacity be it winners or/and nominees.
