Reactionary To The Wrestling News of: Bron Breakker Heel Turn 04/04/2023 & WWE Draft 2023 by AverageMansReview - Spoilers Alarm!
It will become apparent why I have connected these two subjects: well this heel turn makes 99% no sense whatsoever for Bron Breakker, from the perspective of okay if you want to turn heel, you may want to do the ground work first which they did absolutely none, in fact they went the complete opposite way and made him look more like a babyface.
Now
if you haven't seen Stand & Deliver 2023 where Breakker was dethroned as
the NXT Champion by Carmelo Hayes [with Trick Williams;] where Williams uses
the Championship, then we have Breakker taking the championship off the referee
then to hand it over to Hayes, then to raise his hand to really put him over
[as I had predicted this is where I was thinking Breakker is putting over Hayes
as champion on his way out of NXT to possibly debut on the main roster on Night
2 of this year's WrestleMania, but this didn't happen.]
So
politely fast-forward until the first Tuesday after Stand & Deliver 2023 I
have seen a clip of this heel turn and in a nutshell we have the classic
raising of the hand again just for Breakker to attack Hayes.
The
problem is; Breakker cannot seen as a heel, based on the grounds he has done
nothing wrong.
I
mean this is how I would have done it; briefly Breakker after throwing
everything at Hayes, by his body language and mannerisms indicates " I
can't be this guy" so he goes under the ring and brings out a steel chair and
it is important he doesn't actually use it, because attempt to powerbomb Hayes
on the steel chair when it is flat, he is conflicted and eventually listens to
the referee, which the referee takes it out of the ring, consequently Williams
comes in with a championship and does what is necessary.
The
reason why I have chosen to do it this way, is because the seeds of a heel turn
have been planted and in essence as heel Williams hasn't done anything wrong.
Because it is Breakker that had gave him the opportunity, I mean to cement this
slow heel turn you could even have Breakker still doing putting over Hayes at
this Premium Live Event, to say did we see a heel turn here? And then do what
happens on Tuesday, I mean my outlay a least makes coherent sense Breakker was
in the wrong to begin with so whatever happens after that it doesn't matter the
heels have coverage.
But
as things stand this is a very weak storyline, how can Breakker be seen as a
heel when he is done absolutely nothing wrong and even attacking Hayes on NXT,
this is still not a heel, still based on the grounds he got cheated out of his
championship. I did outline is roughly on social media and I did have someone
responds am paraphrasing here "maybe he is angry at the audience" and
I replied basically it is a very weak storyline and some of the crowd in
attendance were not buying it. Even more on reflection taking into
consideration this person's perspective it makes Breakker look incredibly dumb
if this is the case, because he in essence put Hayes over note once but twice
on two separate occasions so the audience was just praising both of them for
being professional and even respecting Breakker's wishes to put Hayes over.
I
mean as I also have referenced on social media, turn Breakker more into a butt kicker that kind of
model that would make sense and use the existing information we have up-to-date
that he got screwed but for NXT to turn him/see him as a heel is going to be
problematic at best considering we basically have another Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte
Flair situation where they tried to push the opposite dynamics and chemistry
which didn't work as in Lynch heel, Flair babyface it feels at this point to
keep with what works as Breakker babyface/progress to butt kicker to and Hayes and Williams heels.
For
those younger generations of wrestling fans the WWE don't like running
generally speaking the same dynamics as in heel vs. heel and as I have already
referenced this heel turn by Breakker wasn't brought by some of the audience as
you can tell by them barking as he does and just for the record like his father
before him [Rick Steiner] so if anything the NXT hierarchy has just very much
split their audience, regardless of what happens in the present or the future
all I can see is this being problematic at best and at worst not going away
they want this feud to go as in its dynamic and chemistry, which in the long
run hopefully not, but quite probably harming everyone in this feud as in their
character developments and first NXT Champion [main brand championship] run.
Now
on to the next subject, but it is a combining point to begin with. I am hoping
that this feud is like a relatively brief one and when I say relatively brief I
actually mean the draft 2023, so this is more of a stopgap thing where these
two wrestlers can't do too much damage to their respective gimmicks in a few
weeks or you would like to hope so. That is how much I don't like this change
of feud dynamic and chemistry, that hopefully Breakker gets called up to the
main roster.
But
you would think by now that the hierarchy of any description would understand
that if you are for or against the draft itself? At some point throughout the
year you will have their universe mocking the draft, because like it or not
ever since its use the hierarchy of the WWE seems to forget or conveniently
forget its own rules of the draft when it basically suits them or stop me if
you have heard this expression many times throughout the years around WWE
Survivor Series " "The only time of the year that Raw and SmackDown
[sometimes including NXT] go head to head in direct competition" [or
something to that effect] and you will have other content creators pointing out
when they broke the rules.
Based
on everything and have said about the draft here, is precisely why I don't
actually care about it, even though essentially we have Triple H indicating in
a promo on Friday 07/04/2023 of SmackDown basically and I am paraphrasing here
it is going to be landscape changing.
Unless
they do that very literally I am not interested; someone on social media had
basically come up with this idea of bringing back WCW. Before I receive
backlash for even saying this, I know they wouldn't be that bold and that
imaginative to literally have three different brands WWE Monday Night's RAW
Tuesday, Night's NXT and Friday's WCW Nitro, yes I am suggesting getting rid of
SmackDown [if you're wondering about the Premium Live Events just split the
card no more than up to 8 matches, 6 would be ideal but you have two extra
match slots to work with if a few catches light in one night just in case] and
for and the events that require Raw and Nitro you just split the number of
participants down the middle for an example the Royal Rumble Match itself.
But
the only thing that remotely interests me is how long are they actually go to
abide by their own rules that they set out, I will give it two months or at the
push 10 weeks.
