I don't think saying yes to this job on your first day back was such a good idea: this mercenary Ladybird [Brad
Pitt] in Tokyo, Japan has been given this job to do by his Handler [Sandra
Bullock] to get on this Bullet Train steal this briefcase from the luggage
department, so for his first job back after having a break and spending some
time with his counsellor [Barry] and trying to find himself, this contract
should have been an easy pick up and drop off. But it is anything but as we
have multiple storylines converging on this Bullet Train. Which leaves me
swiftly on to the pacing; the pacing for this 126 minutes film is a little bit
slower to begin with as it needs to find its footing, but after that it with
gusto settles down to quickly move back and forth through this film, yes this
is one of those films that goes back and forth or/and shows you at points how
we/they arrived at this present point in time.
For the action sequences they are
all high obtained action like for an example Ladybird vs. Tangerine [Aaron
Taylor-Johnson] an British assassin, where they have to pause this conflict,
because a Bullet Train attendant has come in and they have to act like nothing
is happening, in fact she asks them both individually if they want something
[yes this is speculation on my part as I don't speak Japanese, but you will get
a rough idea] Tangerine politely declines, but Ladybird in English asks for
sparkling water, which because he has run out of money for paying a Bullet
Train passenger [Channing Tatum] to do something for him, he gets Tangerine to
pay for him which it is ¥1000 which Tangerine does bring this up which he does
say the equivalent is $10. Ladybird asks still paraphrasing "Are you sure
you don't want to discuss this?" Tangerine declines again the action
sequence commences with Ladybird flinging this empty plastic bottle at
Tangerine's head.
The art is very clear to see as it
relates to the landscapes, the scenery, the wardrobe and all of that really, be
it the clean or graphic scenes they are artistically of a very high standard.
Character developments and their performances:
well let's talk about Tangerine's brother Lemon [Brian Tyree Henry] he uses
this unorthodox method to find out what people are really like he has these Thomas
the Tank Engine & Friends stickers and he categorises people by the trains,
sometimes sticking the children's TV program train on an individual, which
never fails including you get Tangerine doing an impression of the original
storyteller/voice over performer Ringo Starr [1984-1986, 2 Series] and briefly
on the comedy because I have shown you two examples, I will make reference to a
third and that would be the count-along and that is it, this film has a well balanced comedy tone and
I would have to say more or less it is a consistent presence. But back onto the
character developments and their performances, because as I said from earlier
you get this back and forth it gives the viewers a marvellous and rich
opportunity to understanding of these characters and for those that we don't
have this opportunity to understand them, they character developments are
equally developed to match the those which we have experienced their background
in some capacity. This cast of characters and performers; there is fluent
chemistry from everyone involved.
This film receives: 10/10, this film is good fun: I had to take a very little off for it having to find its footing, but still gets 10 out of 10 from me and furthermore on reflection this is a big screen experience, you see there is always something happening, as far as I'm more there is one extra scene during the first credits, without giving too much away it finishes the film off nicely and very lastly after everything is said and done this film should either receive Nominees or Win some awards and I do mean positive awards there is so much positivity in this film even though I will give you a warning to finish this off and I know I have said it wants already one way or another this film can be graphic.
Yes the trio of Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum have worked recently on another project together in The Lost City 2022 Links https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2022/04/the-lost-city-2022-by-averagemansreviews.html check it out.
