If the truth was known I didn't like this film very much: we meet this hard-nosed journalist Lloyd Vogel/Mr. Rabbit [MatthewRhys] which is having or go to have more personal issues and just having a baby Gavin with his wife Andrea Voge [Susan Kelechi Watson;] he works for this magazine known as Esquire that gets sent on assignment by his editor Ellen [Christine Lahti] to interview Fred Rogers/Mister Rogers/voice of Daniel Striped Tiger/voice of King Friday XIII/just to cover back may or may not voice puppets [Tom Hanks] for this Hero’s section. The pacing of this 109 minutes film is smooth as it gets on with what it is meant to do and that is tell this film.

I was thinking that this film was going to be about Fred Rogers a.k.a. Mister Rogers but it isn't; it is so much more just about Lloyd Vogel and his situation and how Fred Rogers impacted his life and consequently his family's life as well. Because of Lloyd's character developments, you can be forgiven for thinking he is going to write a piece discrediting Fred Rogers, but he doesn't in fact we don't actually get to see what he writes other than it is very much said that it is I am paraphrasing here excellent work. Now onto Fred Rogers talking about dealing with anger like pound on some clay or swim as fast as you can, play the notes on the piano heavily or something to that effect and this is where this project lost another mark, because we see Fred playing these piano keys heavily indicating he is angry, but we never find out why and then he quickly goes back to playing the piano civilly and that is the end of the film, I mean we never get to meet or see his children or explore the other side of his personality; this is for the people that have seen this film I know we see him swimming as well, his wife Joanne Rogers [Maryann Plunkett] Lloyd discusses things with her when you first meet her properly where she makes references to how he works at being this man in this conversation with Lloyd, so like I was saying from earlier we get to hear it but we never get to see Fred being properly long-term angry and before I move on I should be fair and balanced by pointing out one example of this Nominee Austin Film Critics Association 2020; AFCA Award Best Adapted Screenplay Micah Fitzerman-Blue Noah Harpster [inspired by the article "Can You Say... Hero?"] By Tom Junod.

The art is a massive positive; it rotates between our world and Neighborhood of Make-Believe [which briefly it is this little kingdom in Mister Rogers TV house] using arts and crafts to bring this kingdom to life, but however in this film they have used this arts and crafts scenery and everything to do with that to represent things going on in our world so you get a mixture of real life our world being represented in this highly imaginative and creative art.; For an example Nominee Art Directors Guild 2020 Excellence in Production Design Award; Contemporary Film Jade Healy Gregory A. Weimerskirch [art director] Gary Kosko [art director] Corey Sweazen [assistant art director] Adele Plauche [set designer] Craig Shoji [concept artist] Joanna Bush [concept artist] Brad Towell [graphic designer] Jason Millet [storyboard artist] Merissa Lombardo [set decorator.]

Character developments and the performances; for what they are they are reliably good versions. But Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers a.k.a. Mister Rogers; I only really know this person as character by his reputation and USA legendary and legacy and if a TV program be it animated or other just in case I have missed anything out, parodies of him. But for here and now Tom Hanks has got him down perfectly hence why he Won awards were Nominees for his portrayal of Fred Rogers/Mister Rogers AARP; Movies for Grownups Awards 2020; Movies for Grownups Award Best Supporting Actor Tom Hanks and Academy Awards, USA 2020; Oscar Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role and likewise Indiana Film Journalists Association, US 2019 IFJA Award Matthew Rhys.

This film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; yes I have highlighted this film has positives to it, but all this film does is cloud Fred Rogers/Mister Rogers in more of a mystery, but this is one of those rare occasions where I can say " Maybe this film just isn't my cup of tea." In total this film has 7 Won awards that include Humanitas Prize 2020; Humanitas Prize Drama Feature Film Micah Fitzerman-Blue Noah Harpster and Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival 2020 Winner Grand Jury Prize Best Feature Film Marielle Heller. 64 Nominees including BAFTA Awards 2020; BAFTA Film Award Best Supporting Actor Tom Hanks and Costume Designers Guild Awards 2020 CDG Award Excellence in Contemporary Film Arjun Bhasin.
