Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/drugs/animal cruelty/medical

So I need a dog now: we meet Detective Michael Dooley [James Belushi] on a case which he has been on for some time now as it relates to this individual Lyman [Kevin Tighe] which is involved in criminal activities for an example drug shipments. This is where Police Officer Jerry Lee [on some research Rando or Koton; breed of dog German shepherds; sadly died in 1991; whilst apprehending a suspect nn the murder of a police officer, he got shot.] he is a K-9 police dog with many skills, but one in particular is the ability to sniff out drugs. But our lead partnership has one thing in common straightaway they are both mavericks that in one way or another will upstage each other.

The pacing of this 102 minute film is like this film solidly good, you know what it is doing and it sticks that. As I have just referenced generally speaking the character developments of our lead partnership is one-upsmanship, like one example of the comedy is Detective Dooley is in bed with his girlfriend Tracy [Mel Harris] having a romantic time, but eventually after a little while of Jerry Lee watching, he decides to slowly creep onto/into their bedcovers with the legendary Jaws 1975 background music, if you need a little bit more information it is when he is slowly building a to attack his victims. But as it relates to this film it is just building up Jerry Lee making himself known with "Love me instead" to Tracy. Jerry Lee is excellent at communicating, with the sound of barking, growling, understanding with putting face on his paws to indicate "That didn't go according to plan." He is literally also a ball buster in more than one way; Benny the Mule [Pruitt Taylor Vince] throws this cue ball at Jerry Lee, he catches it in his mouth and breaks it in two, a little time later things for Benny will get so much more uncomfortable; the truth will set him free.

The character developments and the performances; generally speaking first of all the character developments and the performances are all good. But a little bit more specificly now; the chemistry between the triangle of Jerry Lee, Detective Dooley and Tracy is what makes this film. As I have already stated our lead partnership already has a lot going on, but deep down eventually they get along as on this steak out Detective Dooley tells Jerry Lee how he and Tracy found one another and Jerry Lee is soft with Tracy and Tracy knows deep down that her boyfriend is a good man and new as well, it's just he is so close to breaking this case.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; this is one of those films that is designed for pleasant Sunday afternoon viewing with or without the family [which are age-appropriate]
