He-Man and the Masters of the Universe [Season 2,] Episode 109: Orko's New Friend by AverageMansReviews

Review Time:

5 things about this episode

Warning: there flashing effects/other effects/transformation/slavery/animal cruelty

Squonge the storyteller: Storyline, Character [Character developments.] Comedy and Moral message; these combined in one way or another; the storyline and the moral message are heavily connected to one another [I know they are usually connected in some way, but not this transparent.] Basically in this ending section of this episode [abbreviated version/paraphrasing] we have Squonge pointing out if Orko head just believed him when this happened, none of this would have taken place. With Teela butting in and highlighting; that maybe it was a little difficult for Orko to believe you with always telling stories. With  Squonge apologising for this but he just wanted people to like him and think he is special with Prince Adam/He-Man giving this standard reply of we do like you just the way you are. Then just before Squonge gets back into his ship to get ready to go back to Trolla he tells this massive story of what he could be facing on his journey back to Orko, Prince Adam/He-Man, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms with Orko going " Eh... Squonge..." [pointing at him] with Squonge quickly responding "Relax, Orko, just kidding!" Everyone laughing. Then we go on to the moral message with Orko essentially highlighting the same things about telling stories.

This episode receives: 6/10, this episode is good; it has consistently good things to see and experience, but as you can see/read in this review I decided to go with the transparent theme of this episode because as I have said now twice and now a third time it is transparent, okay I get the purpose of this episode. But to have the ending section of this episode as essentially the moral message and then the moral message section as basically the same thing as the ending section of this episode; on one hand I get it; it drives the message home but on the other hand this is overkill, based on the grounds the storyline is designed to indicate that anyone that Squonge talks to wouldn't believe him if he didn't have the reputation of telling stories.
