Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWE WrestleMania Backlash 16/05/2021 Match 2/Part 2 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning/Disclaimer: there are flashing effects/colourful effects and Disclaimer; I have never been and likely to be a wrestler.

Background information: we have the Raw Commentary building up Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman vs. the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley [with MVP:] Triple threat match for the WWE Championship, then we have The Miz and John Morrison talking about The Miz's match tonight against Damian Priest in a Lumberjack Match and then we have this situation between these Tag Teams starting on the kickoff show and the consequences of this interaction effect this WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships Match. This is too much background work; I mean here is a great idea do a little build up work [basically pick one other and focus on here and now or next; they used to do this kind of thing in many years gone by where they did this kind of format where it was match, interview match, interview; why change something which clearly wasn't broken, this gave their product a good balance and flexibility; it was like a giant puzzle; they could have always changed the pieces around as long as the next step isn't detrimental or overloaded to the previous or the next step, in a nutshell what I am suggesting is planning of any description longer than three weeks.] I mean this could be possibly down to why their current product is going badly, you know if the hierarchy showed more interest in their product and Divisions it might bring some new eyes on their product and awaken the interest of your long-term suffering Universe/fan base; I am just saying building slowly so you don't have to camp everything into the pay-per-view and make it look really messy and overloaded.

Match/Stipulations: Rey & Dominik Mysterio [real-life father and son] vs. the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions are The Dirty Dawgs [Dolph Ziggler & "The Glorious" Robert Roode:] Tag Team Match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 5/10

Match Storyline: 4/10

Crowd Participation: 7/10

On Commentary: SmackDown of; Pat McAfee & Michael Cole 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 6/10

Match Total: 36/60 - this match is good

Comments: this match slot is boring; this match roughly goes on just over 17 minutes, which they could have halved this match time, because you can see what match outlay they are using and these kind of formals have stood the test of time, because they are reliable and they fulfil are their purpose. But however this is one of those occasions where 17 minutes seems and feels a long time to fill with this formula of without giving too much away Babyfaces up against it and overcoming.

I have a quick question; why the hell are The Dirty Dawgs still a thing? I know they need tags teams for their shambles of Tag Teams Divisions and their individual Championships [at this point having tag teams wrestling and everything else that comes without is just used as a creative scapegoat as in we have nothing for them or nothing better for them to do on the main roster so let's stick them together."] Once again this is another case of someone coming up to the main roster or rosters in the case of Robert Roode and then having no clue or creative idea what to do with him; be it TNA/Impact or NXT he was a huge deal at these places, but then he came to the WWE main rosters and no way in hell should he be in these main rosters Tag Team Championship Divisions; he should be on Raw challenging for the WWE Championship; his promos skills and in ring-work should dictate, they could repackage him as this businessman [leaning towards Heel traits but open to listen to Babyfaces if it assists him to achieve his goals capturing this Championship because whomever holds this Championship holds the power around here or make him a leader of a faction or stable;] I mean if they gave him something creative to work with he could be a integral part of re-establishing himself and the younger generation after him and consequently making Raw's viewing numbers may be going up. Dolph Ziggler; the reasons why this individual hasn't been mentioned in the pay-cuts [I should quickly say I don't want anyone to lose their job, but when you have massive talents being put on the chopping block and then released; this is my opinion/speculation on my part then you have Ziggler; he is just a glorified jobber that will put other talents over in one way or another or possibly do things for the WWE that other talents wouldn't do like being stuck in the Tag Team Divisions; so basically a company Player; but in fairness and balance it keeps him in work and getting paid which you cannot blame you for that, especially through this global pandemic.

Basic Result: Rey & Dominik Mysterio [real-life father and son] are your New WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions; everyone knows how much this company likes would first-evers; so this team being the first real-life father and son WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions this must have really excited Mr McMahon; what with them having a brief interview with Kayla Braxton after this match in the ring, it is just a shame that these and the Raw versions have absolutely no prestige or credibility to them whatsoever, because if they did; this may actually mean something. Don't get me wrong I am happy/satisfied it happened, but in reality these two versions of these Tag Team Championships are possibly expensive paperweight.

Now I have spent a little bit of time thinking about this; originally I was irritated, but because I am wise the only positive reason I can see the commentary team calling Cole " The Splash" or  McAfee "A Splash from the heavens" [later on this is just an excerpt he says "It is the most beautiful splash] because Dominik wants to use The Frog Splash and stand out as in his own character/performer; so yes to honour Eddie Guerrero by using his finisher, but to change the name slightly so it is his version and yes Cole does say a little about Eddie;" I guarantee you, the late great Eddie Guerrero, best friends with Ray  Mysterio; McAfee ["What a moment"] Cole continues would be applauding that beautiful Splash from Dominik." But watching the end of the segment call refers to this move as The Frog Splash" this is just an excerpt” this moment if it ever happened would be the highlight of everything in his life and Dominik made it happen. A Frog Splash to take out Roode and Ziggler and the Mysterio can call themselves SmackDown Tag Team champions." Here is me trying to be fair and balanced and Cole puts his foot in his mouth.

The reason why I have kept all of this in here; it's because it shows I was trying to meet halfway with this company until Cole used the words " A Frog Splash" so because of this; I am now irritated again, I now want to know why they didn't use this name to begin with, because it isn't a Splash or a Big Splash. Disclaimer: I have never been or likely to be a wrestler, but a splash requires the aggressor to jump off the top rope with height and no legs or arms movements in the air onto the receiver for a potential pin-fall like The Usos [Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso] use and yes I am aware of the Big Splash running off the ropes and then jumping up landing on to their receiver likewise for a potential pin-fall and just to cover my back I am aware of the Five-Star Frog Splash. The reason why these two moves have Frog Splash in them is because it requires the aggressor/user of this move to make a frog movement with their body in mid-air which we can clearly see Dominik Mysterio perform.
