Bio-Dome 1996 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time
Warning:
there are flashing effects/colourful/environment component/animal cruelty/human
waste/vomiting/child abuse/drugs
Storyline: it is good and the pacing is straightforward as it knows
what it is doing and sticks to the plan.
Action/Comedy: these two components go hand-in-hand here are just two
examples; after losing a game of Roshambo [Rock Paper Scissors] Johnson/Baldwin
has to assume the position to take a very hard whack that it leaves an imprint on the forehead from
Macintosh/Shore with this book; you see Macintosh/Shore is going to take a
running start to build up momentum to hit Johnson/Baldwin on the forehead with
this book which will consequently send him flying into this bookcase behind him
and give him what looks to be a concussion with the sound effects of flying
birds around the head. Now if you're wondering why they are doing this; they
have a history of getting out of things that their Girlfriends want to do and
their Boyfriends had previously agreed to at some point; Monique/Adams is
Macintosh's Girlfriend and Jen/Hill is Johnson's Girlfriend.
The
second example; is where we have Macintosh/Shore and Johnson/Baldwin bungee
jumping off from the top of this Bio-Dome [beginning from inside of the
Bio-Dome structure and eventually landing in this lagoon at the end.]
Comedy
individually; for one example Macintosh/Shore and Johnson/Baldwin now and again
play this game of I am guessing/speculating here; the name is "Guess my
fart."The rule is very simple; one of them has to fart, then the other
participant has to guess what food made it and it's manufacture will give
feedback on your guesses, basically it is like wine tasting, but instead of drinking
you are smelling; to put this very nicely it is much lower down the IQ scale.
Art: there are some good looking scenes of the sun, skies and moon.
Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry now I don't know why
this film received some negative Awards; Wins or Nominated Razzie Awards 1997;
Worst Actor; Pauly Shore [Tied with Tom Arnold in not one, not two but three
films; Big Bully, Carpool and The Stupids all in 1996.] The Stinkers Bad Movie
Awards 1996; Worst On-Screen Hairstyle Stephen Baldwin, Most Painfully Unfunny
Comedy and Nominated for Worst Actor; Pauly Shore.
The
only reason I am saying and pointing out all these things is based on the fact
without these Character developments/Performances and on-screen chemistry from
our lead partnership [I know Baldwin didn't receive any acting Awards here.]
But my point is this; without these Character developments and so on as they
are this film wouldn't have worked, so that is why I am wondering about these
negative Awards; as it relates to the cast they all do a solid job as they are;
you know they are what they are including the on-screen chemistry and there is
nothing wrong with that.
This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I mean it is a little bit
dated by today's standards, but on the whole as you may have guessed by now it
knows what it is which is a mature goofy comedy, this is one of those films
that you need to see once in your lifetime and to finish up; this film is
starring Kylie Minogue as Dr. Petra von Kant.
