Twelve Monkeys 1995/1996 [alternative name 12 Monkeys] by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is excellent

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, voice-over elements, background music, cultural elements, mental imagery, slow-motion effects, quick moving effects, no to subtitles when another language is being used, time jumps and place jumps.

The movement is one of those that knows what it wants to do and it just gets on with it.

Origin storyline/Back story/Storyline: briefly because I don't want to give too much away at one point or another, the origin storyline and the back story gets covered, the storyline it is good and it goes full circle; yes if you have been with me long enough generally speaking you should know I don't like question mark endings. But then again this is a strange project so it would be strange if it didn't have a strange ending or a question mark ending.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: there are weapons being used, combat and chasing. Moving on to the artistic visions; the opening credits with his red monkeys image going around in a circle [but they go further way from the audience the more they go around, this will make better sense when you watch this project] or these paintings or the scenery or these animals or the science fiction elements, basically in one way or another there are many good things to see or experience in this film.

Character developments/Performances/Comedy level: well there is a mental health aspect to this project; it is in all three points. The character developments are good, but I should point out as it relates to one supporting character/performer, the viewers can see this complete role reversal of being mentally sound or not which is and was an imaginative element to put in this project [look for the hotel room scene.] the performances range between good to excellent, the chemistry/friction is reliably there [depending where you are; is depending what you get and not forgetting the mental health aspect as well, things can quickly change because of this as well.

The comedy level is based around the mental health elements, now before I receive any backlash or comments or anything, I can get away with saying something like this because I have mental health issues myself

This film receives: 9/10, as I have already said this film is excellent.
