Review Time: this film is good.

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, words and numbers on screen, background music, slow-motion effects, quick moving effects, mental imagery, time jumps and place jumps.

The movement of this project is quick and it bounces along, it knows what it wants to do and get on with it, this film is long [roughly speaking 140 minutes] but it doesn't feel like it.

Origin storyline/Back stories/Storyline: to begin with the storyline is based on real-life events and it is good. Moving on a little bit now to a slightly more in-depth level; if you have been with me a long time you know I really don't like complicating things, but this project swiftly moves between these three points and more than one point may be used at the same time, including voice-over elements [storyteller from our lead character/performer's perspective and on a quick side note we also have another character/performer telling these little stories amongst other things to our lead character/performer verbally,] mental imagery and dialogue exchanges [these things are not negative things about this project, just a heads up.] Let's just say once you begin watching it; you will understand quickly about my previous section about the movement in this review.

Action sequences/Artistic visions/Comedy level: there are weapons being used, combat, training, exercise, chasing, skiing and poker. The artistic visions are clear to see be it the night elements were you get to see this location by night with all the various lights and other elements or the poker scenes [being organized by our lead character/performer and poker elements on screen. The comedy level these represent themselves in different bits and pieces, voice-over elements or dialogue exchanges or here is one element for you to look out for; the switching of seats

Character developments/Performances: generally speaking the character developments and the performances are all good [there is good chemistry or friction depending where you are; is depending what you get.] But between Chastain and Elba or Chastain and Costner these two different partnerships work on a higher-level, yes there is chemistry/friction between these two pairs, but there is a different bases or connection for their partnerships; on another quick side note Elba as a Lawyer character, he seems to make this character look really natural as in the way he looks [wardrobe,] the way he talks and gives this monologue in this room in front of our lead character/role and another two characters/performers, basically he is the complete package as it relates to a top-level Lawyer.

This film receives: 7/10 as I have already said this film is good, if there are any fans of Chastain, Elba or Costner out there give this film a go [just before I finish, here is an honourable mention for the other performers that performed as Chastain's character; they do their part to bring this character to life as well.]
