Review Time: this project is good
Fundamental elements: there are breaking the fourth wall elements, words and
numbers on screen, cultural elements, voice-over elements, slow-motion effects,
background music, no subtitles when another language is being used, time jumps
and place jumps.
The
movement of this project is a bit here and there to begin with, but it settles
down after some time.
Storyline: it is
based on real-life events.
Action sequences:
in short there are weapons being used and combat.
Artistic visions:
there is a song being sung at this wedding reception this
entire sequence sounds and looks good
Character developments/Performances: the majority of this cast [minus two
characters/performers,] do a solid job with the material given to them and
their performances. But Travolta as our main character/lead role, when this
project settles down gets the opportunity to be the Maestro in this title as
this character has a certain aura around him to be respected, as he takes this
lifestyle seriously in his prime, but when he is older he has a fire in his
belly not to die [I can't tell you too much more than that, because it does get
covered in this film.] This is one of those times where I can say this; without
Travolta in this project this film would have struggled that is for sure.
Keach
also puts in a good performance fulfilling this role and Travolta and Keach
have good chemistry as well.
This film receives:
6/10, this title knows what it is doing from beginning to end and it sticks to
it, but as I have said in this review it does need some time to settle down.
