Review Time: this
film is excellent.
Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, background music, cultural
elements, slow-motion effects, yes and no to subtitles being used when another
language is being used, slow-motion effects, mental imagery, time jumps and
place jumps.
Storyline: it is
straightforward but it is good to be fair.
Song/Songs elements:
now as it relates to this song, it uses the format of a nursery rhyme but with
one big difference it speaks of without giving too much away our lead role and
the songs elements are in one location in this project.
Action sequences:
there are weapons being used, combat elements and chasing elements. The action
sequences themselves are constructed to be chaotic, natural and free flowing,
but they don't have the feeling of being constructed [in short basically they
have this feeling of this is just a normal day at the office for these
characters/performers.]
Character developments/Performances: on both counts they are generally speaking good, but to
be a little bit more specific now the character developments of our lead role
are deep, here is what I mean; it is where he is taking a sledgehammer to this
concrete, it is beautifully managed symbolism of this character releasing a
part of himself which has been locked away in himself and what has been imprisoned
beneath this concrete as well, so how much he tries to either deny or reflect
or something to this effect in some scenes, that he is just using these
personality traits, skills and everything else that comes with using his once
dormant self, eventually they become one and the same and Reeves makes this
role his very own.
This film receives: 9/10, now I don't like the styles of
the subtitles [it was good that I was watching this project with somebody,]
because I have never hidden the fact I am not a strong reader, but the
subtitles are terrible. But let's put that to one side I think after everything
is said and done this mark is right and this project is better than its sequel
[John Wick: Chapter 2 2017.]
