Shrek 2001 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time: this film is a classic.
Artistic visions: now yes the artistic visions are
beginning to look a little bit vintage but they are still all good, the
imagination used throughout has to be highly praised, it could be where Shrek
and Donkey are taking on these Knights in this wrestling ring [where Shrek does
show off his wrestling skills with a tiny assist from Donkey] or it could be a
smaller sequence of events where we have Shrek and Princess Fiona making these
balloons out of creatures they find around them.
Comedy level: the first thing I want to say is this; the comedy
level is well placed throughout, I will just give you some examples [in no
particular order.] The Gingerbread Man torture sequence [I should hasten to add
this sequence of events is extremely mild,] but it is truly funny for many
reasons such as the dialogue exchanges have an excellent back and forth.
The one-liners or
comments, this may sound a little bit vague but they are a consistent theme of
many different subjects or comments but their timing is beautifully timed to be
free-flowing and incredibly natural [when they happen they don't feel out of
place in the slightest,] because they feel like in the moment these one-liners
or comments feel fresh.
Cast: there is excellent chemistry between this cast and their characters as
well, this can be seen or felt when these characters are on screen,
individually or a number of them are together, their personality traits are
well developed to tell their viewers the basics about them at first, but as the
film moves forward we find out more and more about them, I mean even the
evildoer of this film Lord Farquaad is fun, interesting and rememberable.
This film receives: 100% approval, this film is just
perfect fun for everyone.
