Match Total: 44/60 - this match is good
Comments: this match/match slot is all good, I have to
say I don't get one of González's moves
basically it starts life as a modified Faarooq's Dominator, but his begins like a gut wrench up and let's
just say what quickly goes up, must quickly come down to the mat with force.
Whilst González's comes from over the
shoulder which this would be absolutely fine, it makes perfect sense if that is
what I was just talking about. But we have this sitting down ending to this
move from Moon taking it; like a Bubba Bomb but from the front, this bit I
don't get. It looks like something has gone wrong, but it hasn't, because in
the video package hyping this match, you will see this move being done again on
Moon and it does exactly the same thing, as I have already said I just don't
get it.
Basic Result: Raquel González [with Dakota Kai] is still your NXT
Women's Champion
Basic walk-through of this event:
* Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph, & Beth
Phoenix: Commentary talk over replays of what they have just seen over Raquel González's entrance theme of "Get Out The Way"
* Commercial: about upcoming Premium
Live Events Tickets On Sale this Friday WWE SummerSlam Saturday,
August 21
* Todd Pettengill: Host of this Premium
Live Event; talks about the previous match, then basically in a nutshell makes
references to being old in some capacity [I have to confess this comedy shtick
of old is in itself getting old] including this vague comedy skit
of Pettengill having this game of Karate Fighters [just a different
interpretation to Rock'em Sock'em robots] with Dexter Lumis; with
Pettengill asking Lumis " How the women treating you these days?"
With that Lumis stopping and taking Pettengill's figure from its stand and
squeezing it in his hand with Pettengill saying in a nutshell again you win. I
haven't seen much of Lumis' work, but I am saying this very sarcastically. For
some strange reason I don't like this stalker gimmick, this goes way up and
beyond kayfabe here, by all means you can stalk people for their championship's
in wrestling, but just to have a character which solely interested in stalking
women and then to have Pettengill ask this question is very tone deaf and not
funny in this light is. Now yes I have been around wrestling for a long time so
having a character/wrestler stalk women is an old character type used in
decades gone past, but Lumis' interpretation of what I have seen on the main
roster a little bit here and a little bit there with The Miz feud when Lumis
debuted on the main roster in 2022 is right on the knuckle and something I
wouldn't have brought to the main roster, hell I wouldn't have even used this
character type in NXT, because as I have already referenced it is decades old
and that is precisely where it needs to stay in decades past.
