What a great idea let's roughly
start a quarter of a way through [I am being sarcastic here:] because this project is the mystery I can't give too
much away, so let's just say this is a story of two people's attempting to get
their revenge in Victor/another character [Colin Farrell] and separately but
together Beatrice [Naomi Rapace] and at some points we get to see Kilroy [Wade
Barrett.]
The
frame work and pacing of this 118 minutes film is an all-round massive
detriment to this project on the whole, the actual outlay of what they are
attempting to do; of using the mystery crime reveal or at least in this
ballpark so I get why they began the film where they did. Even though I have
just outlined I get what they were trying to do, but back in reality because of
the frame work and pacing being what it is. It leaves this film exposed mostly
every other level so the character development and the performances are in
fairness and balance solid versions and likewise solid performances of what
they are meant to be, the chemistry between Colin Farrell as Victor and Naomi
Rapace as Beatrice; is there of basically two very damaged people, which you
can see and feel this but they are very much left high and dry for about 88% of
this film, you can't get away from the problems of this film. But there is 12%
towards the end of the film where this project actually gets a move on, where
on a quick side note we have a moment of comedy where these bad guys are fully
armed with guns walking in public whilst this delivery guy delivers this
package [being slightly frightened of what he is faced with he delivers this
package and even gets a signature.] I should point out there may be another
moment of comedy, because the person I watched this film with laughed at
something else in this film which I must have missed. But in this final 12% it
really does shoot itself in the foot as it clearly shows what it is capable of
with as I have already said a bit of comedy, action okay reliable guns going
off and explosions but hell it is much better than just drifting along.
This film receives: 2/10, this film is poor; as I have already stated in
one way or another I get why they did what they did with the frame work and
pacing, but if you are going to use this outlay; you need a productive get up
and go or just anything productive instead of this frame work and drifty slow
pacing.
