The Transformers: The Movie 1986 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is lots of fun.

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, words on screen, cultural elements, no subtitles when another language is being used, but there is interpretation in one scene, background music, time jumps and place jumps.

Now this is just a heads up straight off the bat; there are colourful flashing effects and scenes of death, so keep this in mind if you have plans to show this film to your family or just children.

Back stories/Origin storylines/Storyline: there is back stories being brought to its viewers via this voice-over element/monologue with words going up the screen, there is a tiny dialogue exchange about a character [in the prison cells,] moving on the origin storylines get shown to the viewers in a sequence [that is all I can say about that; you will understand when they happen and the storyline is of priceless value. Simply based on the fact it moves on this generation with a life changing impact to everyone involved and in this title we have a smaller groups of characters in their own narratives as well.

Comedy level: there are comedy elements for one example; Starscream has to shoot himself in the foot to free himself before it is too late to get out of this transforming location.

Action sequences/Artistic visions on both counts they are highly creative and highly imaginative; these two elements blend flawlessly together be it keeping up with these chaotic action sequences be them underwater or on land or in the sky or in outer space or inside characters they have been given the same high-level of attention and detail throughout. There is this one scene where Hot Rod and Daniel are sitting on this massive boulder fishing; this scene is beautifully peaceful.

Character developments/Voice performances: because I don't want to give too much away I will say that there are many character developments throughout this film, they are of one's again of a life changing impact and they move on this generation of this TV program. But having said that there are some bits I can point out, briefly there is this moment between Megatron and Soundwave; this one piece of character developments still highlights very strongly that these two characters have a strong bond; Megatron Leader, Soundwave is Megatron's General, it will be this way until the end of time or democracy gets in the way; this bond is of legendary status and the combustible relationship between Megatron and Starscream is also of a legendary status as well.

Ultra Magnus; once again I can't say too much about this situation but what I can say is this; as I have gotten older I've come to realize he does fulfil his duties to an acceptable level in this film [I really want to discuss this point more, but I can't and for those people that have seen this film, you know what I'm trying to make reference to without saying too much, so I have decided to say nothing else here, but I will bring it up after this film in the episode reviews at some point [because we will be past this point] and if it should happen I have new viewers of my material, this seems a good time to just point out; I never discuss everything in a review or give everything away hence what I'm trying to do here and the voice performances are top class, as they make these characters individuals with everything individually built for a specific character, you see be it the TV program or this film, even when these voice performers are no longer here this will always stand the test of time.

This film receives: 10/10, this project has every right to be called a "Classic" because as I have already made reference to in one way or another this landscape after this film is never, ever, ever be the same again. [Warning again about the colourful flashing effects and there is death in this film.]
