The Perfect Weapon 1991 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time: this film is average to good.
Fundamental core/Background music/
Slow-motion effects/Cultural elements/Car trip/Subtitles: now the first thing I want to say is this; yes as you will see I could have put more elements in the beginning of this paragraph but let's just say it would have got a little bit confusing to understand and read. Because these elements in one way or another work off or try to work off one another and to be honest with you when this film tries to do anything slightly complicated it is like watching paint dry.

The fundamental
core, well in a nutshell this film is okay moving forward, but when this
project goes backwards and forwards [boring.] Now moving onto the background
music, this particular element is a consistent theme and the viewers know it is
there. The next element I will be discussing if my memory serves me correctly,
you will be seeing most of these slow-motion effects in the combat sequences
and the cultural element is easy to see from beginning to end of this project.
The car trip, man
this element to this project is a mixture between too much information or just
really boring to watch. Because we have our lead role having these memory
recalls from when he was a young boy to a young man [with these rotations
forward from one to the other] with training, our lead role getting into
trouble and many other bits and pieces happening as well [so generally speaking
these scenes are being used as the character developments for our lead
character.]
The subtitles are
okay they are of decent size and white, but I am at least 80% sure there are
some scenes where one character is using a different language and there are no
subtitles being used.
Storyline/Action sequences: the storyline is okay and the
action-packed sequences are enjoyable, there is a good mixture between combat
sequences, weapons being used and other bits and pieces.
Dante Basco as Jimmy Ho and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Kai: individually
these two performers/characters are entertaining or interesting [Jimmy Ho] is a
character which has a very quick mouth and does offer this project some comical
moments from time to time. [Kai] this character is serious and his stage
presence is one of focused on business.
This film receives: 57% approval, how can I put this; once
this film has settled down and it knows what it is doing with moving the film
forward, mix the storyline with any of the combat or action sequences mixed
that with reliable characters and other elements this film can be entertaining.
